　　具體含義不同、使用場合不同。in the face of 的意思是面對，面對的是問題和具體事物。in face of的意思是面臨，面臨的一般是災難、困難。in the face of偏口語化，使用范圍較廣，in face of偏書面語，使用相對較少。

　　1、be faced with 面臨。

　　2、face the music 承當后果

　　你的騙局被戳穿了，現(xiàn)在你得自食其果了。

　　3、face to face (with) 面對面，面臨，當面。

　　如：

　　4、in (the) face of

　　(1) 面對。

　　如：He showed great bravery in face of danger.

　　(2) 盡管，不顧。

　　如：He succeeded in the face of great difficulties.

　　盡管有巨大困難，但他還是成功了。

　　5、lose face 丟面了。

　　如：He lost face with his friends.

　　6、make a face (at) 皺眉頭，做苦相，做鬼臉。

　　如：He made a face when he saw the pile of work.

　　看到一大堆活，他皺起了眉頭。

　　注：有時 face 可用復數(shù)。

　　7、pull [wear] a long face愁眉苦臉的樣子，板著面孔。

　　如：She pulled a long face when she heard that.

　　他聽到這話之后，顯示出一副不高興的樣子。

　　8、save face 保全面子。

　　如：She kept silent about that in order to save face.

　　為了保全面子，她對那事只字未提。
